Maxine Brown-Jones, a former music educator who taught in the states of South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. Throughout her tenure, she was honored as the Teacher of the Year on four occasions, a testament to her exceptional dedication and talent. After retirement, she joined the Music faculty at Tennessee State University as an Adjunct Professor. In addition to her teaching career, Maxine composed music for the National Sunday School Publishing Board and served as Music Minister for several churches in Tennessee and Georgia. While serving at the Historic First African Baptist Church in Savannah, the Children’s Choir was chosen to sing America in the movie, “Glory”.
